A group of Fiji Indians were motivated to provide a place of worship and practice of Sanatana Dharma in their adopted land of Los Angeles, California, USA. They came together and started reciting Ramayan at different homes and conducted the commonly performed poojas and festivals. They raised funds and purchased the current property and converted it into a temple. Sanatan Dharam Ramayan Mandir of Hawthorne was registered in 1993. Bhindi Jewelers donated all the Devas and Devis (Murtis). Ram Katha is recited with bhajans every Friday evening at 7:30 p.m. at this location. Throughout the year, Shiv Ratri, Ram Naumi, Krishna Janmashtami and Navratri are also celebrated. Click on the calendar for specific dates of these events.
